John Boccuzzi
The Majority Leader
We will miss him dearly.

The following obituary was published in The Stamford Advocate:
JOHN J. BOCCUZZI, 88 of Stamford passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 19, 1923 in Stamford to the late Saverio and Philomena Golia Boccuzzi. John was a loving husband, father and friend and lived his life as a" teacher "and a compassionate listener to all that he knew. He devoted his entire life to his family, faith and country, having served in the US Army as a Platoon Sergeant and Tank Commander in the 44th Tank Battalion, seeing action in battles and campaigns in New Guinea, Bismarck Archipelago, Western Pacific, Southern Pacific and Luzon. Earning many decorations and citations, including the Purple Heart, Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon and two Bronze Service Stars. His battalion merged with 1st Cavalry division known as the famous "Flying Column" on the Island of Luzon, where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart. John was a Master Tool & Die Maker for over forty years at Tool Craft Inc. before his retirement. He was also a member of the Stamford Board of Representatives since 1965 serving the 2nd District. He also served on numerous committees throughout his political career. John is survived by his loving daughters, Barbara Toscano and her husband Jim of Norwalk, Suzanne D'Arinzo and her husband Pat of Darien and Lois Pasquarella and her husband Ralph of Newtown, CT; his loving son, John J. "Jack" Boccuzzi, Jr. of Stamford and his loving sisters, Marion Fiordelisi and Pat Caldarone, both of Stamford. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his wife of sixty two years, Adeline Saracco Boccuzzi, he is predeceased by his brother Ralph Boccuzzi.

Don Donahue, Vice Chairman Stamford Democratic City Committee
Donald T. Donahue Jr., of Stamford, CT passed away on Monday, June 1, 2009 at the age of 61. He was born in Stamford on March 10, 1948 and was the son of Donald T. Donahue, Sr. and Mary (Lambert) Donahue. Don was employed by The Property Group. He was Transportation Director for Stamford Public Schools and served as Public Works Commissioner from 1989-1991. A lifelong native of Stamford, he was very active in local politics. Don was vice chairman of the Stamford Democratic City Committee, a member of the Board of Representatives, 8th District, from 1979-1989, and Democratic State Central Committeeman. He served as coordinator of the Rides to Polls program, largely because he knew the city of Stamford and its streets so well. He was also an active member of the Cove Neighborhood Association, Board of Directors of Colonial Gardens Condominium Association, the Pulaski Democratic Club, and the Board of the Directors of the Northrop Little League. He is survived by wife, Kathleen Keeler Donahue; a son, Patrick Donahue; his parents, Donald and Mary Donahue; a brother, Paul Donahue of Stamford and a sister, Karen Humby, of Fairfield, CT.
Bob Costello
Bob Costello passed away at his home on Friday, September 12, 2008 at the age of 67. He had a nineteen year career with the the City of Stamford in the Parking and Meters Department, and worked for Burndy Co. for 17 years. He was a Democratic member of the Board of Representatives, the Democratic City Committee, and the Pulaski Democratic Club for many years. Bob was a longtime dedicated volunteer for Democratic candidates. Bob Costello will be missed by the Stamford Democrats.
Ruby Blackwell
Ruby Blackwell passed away September 17, 2008 at the age of 76. She was a current Democratic member of the Board of Representatives, representing the 9th District on the West Side for the last ten years. She was a longtime member of the Democratic City Committee. Ruby was a dedicated volunteer at the United Baptist Church and for many community and charitable organizations. She resided on the West Side for 50 years—half a century, and was a staunch advocate for its residents. All of Stamford mourns the passing of Ruby Blackwell.
Anne McDonald
Stamford mourned the passing of one it's leading lights (Wednesday, October 3, 2007) when Anne McDonald died at the age of 74. McDonald served six terms as a Democratic State Represenative for Stamford's 148th State House District, on the east side. Prior to going to Hartford she was a member of the Stamford Board of Education in the 1970's. Rep. McDonald is survived by her husband of 47 years, Alex, and the couple's four children. Their youngest, Andrew, has been the Democratic State Senator representing Stamford and Darien since 2002.She will be missed by the Stamford Democrats, her friends, her family and her former constituents.
