BLUMENTHAL
ENDORSES MALLOY FOR RE-ELECTION
| September 22, 2005 —Before an
audience of cheering Stamford Democrats, state Attorney General Richard
Blumenthal returned to Stamford to give a rousing endorsement of his good
friend, Dan Malloy . Appearing in the Government Center lobby Blumenthal
said that Malloy had earned another term as Stamford's Mayor. He reminded
the audience of his close ties to many people in Stamford , including
Malloy and others in the room. Blumenthal represented the city as a State
Representative from 1984 to 1987 and in the state Senate from 1987 to
1990. Many of the Democratic candidates running for municipal office joined
Malloy in welcoming the Attorney General. Stamford Democratic City Committee
Chairwoman,Ellen Camhi , was pleased that the Attorney General took the
time to return to Stamford and give the Mayor and his team another vote
of confidence. “The Attorney General remembers what it was like
in Stamford in the 1980's and early 90's because he represented Stamford
in the Legislature. He recognizes what an exceptional job Dan Malloy and
the Democrats have done to move this City forward,” Camhi said.
