| Dan was born and raised in Stamford, CT. The youngest of eight siblings, Dan has always been close to his family.
As a lifelong CT resident, Dan found ways to engage the surrounding local and state community and has been involved with various charities and outreach organizations.
Dan went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Boston College and Boston College Law School.
He then became a successful prosecutor, serving as Assistant District Attorney and winning 22 convictions in 23 felony cases.
After many years Dan returned home to run for Mayor of Stamford, CT, winning in a landslide victory in 1995.
Dan served 14 years, the city's longest tenure as mayor, and oversaw the city's transformation. Looking forward to the next chapter in his life, Dan hopes to bring the same resolve and creativity to Hartford to tackle Connecticut's biggest problems.
He currently lives in Stamford with his wife, Cathy, and their three sons; Dannel, Ben, and Sam.
